As I’m putting together stuff for my final portfolio for class/our open studios show, I’m finally scanning some of the bigger illustrations I’ve been doing this year for my children’s book illustration class. So here’s a little part of one of them. This is Milo! He lives at the circus! He isn’t good at anything except having noodley arms.
Not sure when I’ll post all of this stuff, I need to reconfigure the illustration gallery on my website…

this is perfect colors right.

this is perfect colors right.

can no longer distinguish between good and bad color choices
lines removed for optimal excitement when it’s done (haha no)

I….couldn’t edit my last post to include another shot, apparently.
Yeah, this isn’t working out tonight.

Well. Two different coloring attempts at mixing watered-down gouache and digital coloring. Sadly, mostly I learned that my scanner is kind of terrible.
I could go and adjust the one on the left and see how that goes, but ultimately I might just do this whole thing digitally, since I’m running out of time for the actual pieces. (this is just a test drawing.)
Also, why yes, I have been looking at a lot of frilly dresses this weekend, between costume references for the main illustration and watching a lot of Say Yes to the Dress. I want to wear all of the dresses. All of them.

New business card! I’m really excited to see this come in the mail! There will be rounded edges! and spot gloss!

Only disappointment: the front and back don’t actually match up if you stack them; maybe I can fix that next time. I don’t think anyone will care much though.

I’ve actually gotten a couple other things sent out to sell at cons, but I want to wait till I have the finished products to show them :D

And now I have to hustle to finish up my comics/put together minis for MoCCA. And do other stuff. pfft.

About 90% sure I’ll have to redo all of these, so any ambition I had to do one more of these before class on Wednesday has evaporated.
and crappy cellphone photos are crappy.
